'House Building' by Alan Footner (71st)

Alan joined the RAF as an Apprentice Instrument Fitter of the 71st entry in September 1951. When not employed servicing aircraft he became known for his skills which included the hobbies of painting illuminated certificates and maps of different English counties. Another of his talents was building model houses all drawn to scale and painted on paper cut to very tiny bits using biro refills for chimneys, tiny hole punch cuttings for flowers anything he could find using tweezers, magnifying glass to reproduce models of cottages which had been observed walking in the Yorkshire dales, Peak District, Wales and Lake District. Fine Art indeed.
