Sundials by Simon Hazard (62nd)

Simon Hazzard, joined the RAF in May 1949 as an Apprentice Instrument Fitter of the 62nd entry. Since retirement he has adopted the esoteric skill and art of designing and making sundials which are carefully calculated to be an accurate timepiece when attached to southerly facing walls. There are many examples of his work scattered around the County Down area in Northern Ireland where he lives. He continues to design and make these exquisite pieces of art and can claim to be an exporter as he has one awaiting delivery to Gdansk, Poland!
